Supplier Actions: Any injury, death, property damage, or other damages caused by
the acts, errors, omissions, representations, warranties, breaches, or negligence of
any third-party travel supplier (airlines, hotels, car rentals, etc.).
Independent Contractors: Travel suppliers are independent contractors and not employees
or agents of Joyfares. Joyfares is not liable for the acts, errors, omissions, representations,
warranties, breaches, or negligence of any such suppliers or for any personal injuries, death,
property damage, or other damages or expenses resulting therefrom.
Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Joyfares, its affiliates, licensors, and

This indemnity specifically includes, but is not limited to, airline debit memos or credit

Service failures by third-party suppliers (e.g., flight cancellations or hotel
overbookings).
-
Unauthorized charges made by family members, friends, or associates with access to
your credit card.
- Your failure to provide accurate travel documentation or comply with supplier rules.
Governing Law and Jurisdiction
All matters relating to the Website and these Terms of Use, and any dispute or claim arising
therefrom, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province
of Alberta
and the federal laws of Canada, without giving effect to any choice or conflict of
law provision or rule.
Any legal suit, action, or proceeding arising out of, or related to, these Terms of Use or the
Website shall be instituted exclusively in the courts of the Judicial District of Calgary,
Alberta
. You waive any and all objections to the exercise of jurisdiction over you by such
courts and to venue in such courts.
Dispute Resolution
We are committed to customer satisfaction. If you have a problem or dispute, we will try to

services or products provided, by contacting info@joyfares.com. If we are not able to
resolve your claim within 60 days, you may seek relief through arbitration or in small claims
court in Calgary, Alberta.
Booking Services and Travel Provider Rules
These Booking Services terms are supplemental to our main Terms of Use. When you book
travel services through Joyfares:
-
Supplier Terms: You agree to abide by the terms and conditions of purchase
imposed by any supplier with whom you elect to affiliate. This includes, but is not
limited to, payment of all amounts when due and compliance with the supplier's
rules and restrictions regarding availability, fares, or use of products or services.
-
Violations: You acknowledge that any violation of any such supplier's rules and
restrictions may result in:
- Cancellation of your reservation(s).
- Being denied access to the applicable travel product or services.
- Forfeiting any monies paid for such reservation(s).
- Our debiting your account for any costs we incur as a result of such violation.
Fees and Taxes: You are completely responsible for all charges, fees, duties, taxes, and
assessments arising out of the use of this Website and any bookings made through our
platform.
Our Responsibility (Supplier Failure)
Joyfares acts as an intermediary only. We are not responsible for any issues, losses, or
damages caused by a travel provider’s actions, omissions, or failures, including but not
limited to situations where a provider files for bankruptcy, undergoes reorganization, or
ceases operations. In the event that a travel provider fails to provide the service for which
you have paid, your sole recourse is with that travel provider, and not Joyfares.
Accessibility Needs
Joyfares does not have specific or audited information regarding the suitability of third-
party bookings for persons with disabilities. Facilities and accessibility standards vary
significantly by country and provider. For specific accessibility details or to make special
requests, you must contact the travel provider directly prior to booking.
International Travel (Passports, Visas, and Health)
Traveling abroad carries inherent risks. It is your sole responsibility to ensure that you meet
all foreign entry requirements and that your travel documents (including passports and
visas) are in order.
Travel Advisories: We strongly recommend that you review travel prohibitions, warnings,
and advisories issued by the relevant government authorities before booking travel to
international destinations. You can find official information at:
Currency and Exchange Rates
Bookings may be processed in different currencies depending on your location, the
supplier’s requirements, or the currency selected at checkout.
-
Exchange Rate Fluctuations: If you pay with a credit or debit card, the total amount
charged may differ from the amount quoted due to currency exchange rate
fluctuations between the time of booking and the time the transaction settles.
-
Bank Fees: Your financial institution may charge foreign transaction or currency
conversion fees. These fees are determined solely by your bank, and Joyfares is not
responsible for these additional costs.
-
Refunds: Any refunds will be issued in the original currency and amount charged. We
are not responsible for any "shortfall" in the refunded amount caused by changes in
exchange rates or bank fees.
Paying with Credit or Debit Cards
We accept Visa, MasterCard, and American Express cards. By submitting your payment
information, you authorize Joyfares and our third-party payment processors to charge your
card for the total cost of the booking.
-
Multiple Charges: Your statement may reflect multiple charges from different
suppliers (e.g., separate charges for a flight and a hotel) that total the amount
quoted at checkout.
-
Verification & Security: For your protection and ours, we use fraud detection
protocols. High-risk transactions may be flagged for manual review. We reserve the
right to contact you or your bank to verify the validity of a transaction. If verification
is not completed to our satisfaction, the booking may be cancelled.
-
Final Confirmation: Hotel and car rental bookings are only considered final once you
receive a confirmation email containing a supplier reference number. If a fare or
availability changes before your payment is fully processed, we will notify you; you
will have the option to accept the new terms or decline the transaction without
charge.
Offers and Discounts
Promo codes may be issued to reduce Joyfares service fees on flight bookings.
-
Usage: Codes must be entered at checkout and cannot be combined with other
offers. They are non-transferable, have no cash value, and are limited to one use per
customer. The discount applies only to the service fee portion of the transaction.
-
Issuance: Some codes are exclusive to our email newsletter or phone-only bookings
through our customer service team.
-
Limitations: Discounts cannot be applied retroactively after a booking is finalized.
Joyfares reserves the right to withdraw or modify promo codes at any time. If a
technical error causes a promo code to display incorrectly, we reserve the right to
cancel the affected booking and offer a refund.
Airline Booking Terms
Rules, Changes, and Pricing: All airline tickets are subject to the Conditions of Carriage of
the respective airline. Your contract for transport is directly with the airline. Airlines reserve
the right to adjust flight schedules or cancel flights at their discretion.
-
Price Errors: While we strive for accuracy, if a flight is listed at an incorrect price due
to a technical or supplier error, Joyfares and the airline reserve the right to cancel
the booking before travel. If your card has been charged, a full refund will be issued.
Frequent Traveler Points:
Bookings made through Joyfares may not be eligible for frequent
flyer miles, points, or upgrades. Please verify eligibility with the airline directly before
booking.
Code Share Agreements:
Some flights are "Code Shares," meaning the flight is operated by
a partner airline. You are responsible for identifying the
operating carrier
for check-in
purposes, which may differ from the airline listed on your ticket.
Hazardous Materials (Safety Disclosure)
Federal laws in Canada (Transport Canada) and the United States (FAA/DOT) prohibit the
carriage of hazardous materials aboard aircraft in your luggage or on your person.
-
Items: Prohibited items include explosives, compressed gases, flammable liquids and
solids, oxidizers, poisons, corrosives, and radioactive materials.
-
Exceptions: Limited exceptions exist for small quantities of medicinal and toilet
articles.
- Further Info: For a full list of prohibited items, please visit:
Prohibited Ticketing Practices
The use of "point-beyond," "hidden-city," or "back-to-back" ticketing to circumvent airline
fare structures is strictly prohibited by most carriers.
-
Risks: Airlines may cancel the remaining portion of your itinerary, deny boarding, or
charge the fare difference to your account if these practices are detected.
-
Indemnity: You agree to indemnify Joyfares against any claims or debit memos
issued by airlines resulting from your use of these prohibited ticketing practices.
Flight Segment Sequence
Airlines generally require that flight coupons (segments) be used in the exact sequence
listed on your itinerary. Failure to show up for any segment (a "no-show") will typically
result in the automatic cancellation of all remaining segments by the airline without a
refund.
Taxes and Fees
Total fares include all applicable government taxes and airline fees known at the time of
purchase.
-
Retroactive Increases: Any retroactive tax increases imposed by a government
authority after booking but before travel are your responsibility.
-
International Fees: Some international destinations charge entry or exit fees (tourist
taxes) locally at the airport; these are not included in your prepaid fare.
-
Baggage: Most airlines now charge additional fees for checked baggage. These fees
are paid directly to the airline and are not included in the Joyfares booking price.
Itinerary Changes and Paper Tickets
-
Changes: If permitted by the airline's fare rules, changes to an itinerary will incur the
airline's change fee, any difference in fare, and a Joyfares administrative processing
fee.
-
Paper Tickets: In the rare event that a physical paper ticket is required, additional
service and shipping fees will apply. If a paper ticket is returned due to an incorrect
address provided by you, re-delivery fees will be charged to your account.
Cancellation and Refunds
General Policy:
-
Non-Refundable Status: Unless explicitly stated otherwise in your itinerary’s specific
fare rules, all airline bookings made on Joyfares.com and all associated service fees
are non-refundable.
-
24-Hour Window: Cancellations requested within 24 hours of booking are subject to
Joyfares’s Agent Assisted Cancellation Fee (see table below). After 24 hours, all
bookings are subject to the specific penalties and policies of the respective airline.
-
No-Shows: If you do not show up for a flight and fail to notify Joyfares or the airline
at least 4 hours prior to departure, your ticket will be designated as a "No-Show."
No-show tickets are strictly non-refundable and all funds are forfeited.
-
Modifications: Name changes are strictly prohibited by airline policy. Itinerary
changes (dates/routing) are restricted and subject to both airline fare differences
and Joyfares processing fees.
- Low-Cost Carriers: Tickets for low-cost carriers are generally 100% non-refundable.
-
Hotels and Cars: Most hotel and car rental bookings are non-refundable. While
Joyfares service fees may be refundable in rare cases, the supplier's portion is
governed by their specific "fine print" policies.

Refund Process and Requirements
How to Request: All cancellation and refund requests must be made by phone through our
customer support team to ensure timely processing and to avoid "no-show" status.
Eligibility Requirements:
A refund will only be processed if:
- The specific fare rules of the airline/supplier allow for a refund.
- The passenger is not in "No-Show" status.
-
Joyfares successfully secures a waiver or authorization from the supplier (not
guaranteed).
Timeline and Acknowledgement:
Upon requesting a cancellation, you will receive an email acknowledgement with a tracking
number. This email does not guarantee a refund. It is merely an acknowledgement that
your request has been received.
-
Decision Finality: The supplier (airline/hotel) has the final authority on all refund
approvals.
-
Processing Time: Once approved by the supplier, refunds typically take 60-90 days
to appear on your statement.
-
Post-Ticketing Fees: If a refund is authorized by a supplier, Joyfares charges a post-
ticketing fee. If the supplier denies the refund, we will refund our post-ticketing
service fee, but our original booking fees remain non-refundable.
Additional Flight Services
-
Web Check-in: By opting for automatic web check-in, you agree to the airline’s terms
and conditions and authorize Joyfares to make all necessary legal acknowledgements
(including safety and hazardous materials declarations) on your behalf.
-
Seats, Meals, and Special Requests: Requested seat assignments, meal preferences,
and frequent flyer credits are not guaranteed and are subject to airline availability.
Any service fees paid to Joyfares for seat selection are non-refundable. We
recommend contacting the airline directly 48 hours before departure to confirm
these requests.
-
Baggage Policy and Fees: Most airlines now charge for checked and even carry-on
baggage. These fees are not included in your Joyfares booking price and must be
paid directly to the airline. Baggage fees are generally non-refundable. Please verify
weight and size limits with your specific carrier to avoid airport surcharges.
-
Entry/Exit Fees: Some international destinations charge "Tourist Taxes" or entry/exit
fees locally at the airport or border. These are not included in your ticket price. It is
your responsibility to verify these costs via official government channels:
Specialized Airfare Types
-
Combo Fares: A "Combo Fare" itinerary consists of two or more separate one-way
tickets, often on different airlines.
-
Each ticket is governed by its own unique airline terms and cancellation
policies.
-
If one flight is delayed or cancelled, it does not automatically entitle you to a
refund or change for the other flight(s) in the combo.
-
Changes or cancellations must be managed for each ticket separately, and
separate Joyfares service fees will apply to each.
-
Upgrade Benefits: Any purchased upgrades (e.g., priority boarding, extra legroom)
are subject to the airline’s operational availability and terms at the time of
departure.
Hotel Booking Terms
-
Check-in Requirements: Upon arrival, you must provide a valid government-issued
photo ID and a credit card (or cash deposit, if permitted by the hotel) in your name.
Note: Many hotels in the USA and Canada do not accept debit cards for security
deposits. These deposits are handled exclusively by the hotel and are separate from
any payments made to Joyfares.
-
Occupancy and Bedding: Standard hotel rooms are generally confirmed for two
adults. Additional guests or specific bedding configurations (e.g., King vs. Twin) are
subject to hotel availability and may incur "Extra Person" charges payable directly to
the property.
-
Late Arrival or No-Show: If you will be arriving late, you must notify the hotel
directly. Failure to check in on the first night of your reservation without notification
will result in your booking being marked as a "No-Show." In such cases, the entire
reservation may be cancelled, and no refund will be issued.
-
Changes and Cancellations: Hotel policies vary from "Fully Refundable" to "Non-
Cancellable." You are responsible for reviewing the specific hotel’s policy provided
during the booking process. Changes to pre-paid reservations usually require a full
cancellation and a new booking at current rates.
-
Disability Accommodations: Joyfares cannot guarantee the availability of ADA-
compliant rooms or specific accessibility features. If you have accessibility needs or
are traveling with a service animal, you must contact the hotel directly prior to
booking to confirm their ability to accommodate you.
-
Room Preferences: Smoking/Non-smoking preferences and floor levels are requests
only and are at the sole discretion of the hotel management. Joyfares has no control
over room assignments.
Hotel Booking Requirements
-
Age Requirement: Guests must be at least 18 years of age, or meet the specific local
legal age requirement of the hotel, to bypass check-in restrictions.
-
Verification: A valid government-issued photo ID and a recognized payment method
(typically a major credit card) in the guest's name are required at check-in.
-
Pricing Accuracy: While we aim for total accuracy, Joyfares.com relies on
information provided by hotels. If a room is listed at an incorrect rate due to a
supplier error, we reserve the right to refuse or cancel the request, even if the
booking is confirmed and charged. In such cases, a full refund of the amount paid to
us will be issued.
-
Mandatory Fees (Resort Fees): Our displayed rates cover the base tariff, applicable
taxes, and selected amenities. However, many hotels—particularly in the
USA—charge mandatory "Resort Fees" or "Facility Fees" at check-in. These fees are
collected directly by the hotel and are not included in your Joyfares reservation total.
Rental Car Booking Terms
-
Rental Contract: Car rentals are governed by the specific contract signed between
you and the rental provider at the time of pick-up. Joyfares is not a party to this
contract.
-
Age & Fees: The minimum age for car rental is 19. Drivers under the age of 25 may
be subject to a "Young Driver Surcharge," and additional drivers may incur extra
fees, both payable directly to the rental company.
-
Merchant Status: For "Retail Price" rentals, the rental company is the merchant of
record. Your credit card is used to guarantee the reservation, but the rental provider
will charge you directly at the time of pick-up.
-
Requirements: You must present a valid driver’s license and a major credit card in
your name at the time of pick-up. Please note that specific car models are not
guaranteed; rentals are confirmed by "category" or "class."
-
Taxes: Taxes vary by location and are collected and remitted by the rental company.
Joyfares does not act as a co-vendor for these taxes.
Featured Airport Parking Terms
Joyfares acts as an agent for third-party car park providers. By booking, you enter into a
direct contract with the provider subject to their specific terms.
-
Booking Details: You must provide the vehicle’s make, type, and registration number
at the time of booking.
-
Confirmation: A confirmation email will be sent upon booking. If you do not receive
this, contact us immediately. No refunds will be issued for "no-shows" or
cancellations made less than 24 hours before the scheduled arrival.
-
Check-in: You must present your confirmation voucher (or reference number) and
the credit card used for the booking upon arrival at the car park.
-
Liability: The car park provider is liable only for proven negligence. Claims for
damage or loss will not be considered once the vehicle has left the car park
premises.
Parking Operational Requirements
-
Procedures: You are responsible for reviewing the arrival and check-in procedures
outlined in your confirmation. Joyfares and the car park provider are not liable for
missed flights resulting from a failure to follow these instructions.
-
Timeliness: You must arrive at the car park at the stated time. We are not liable for
missed departures due to late arrivals.
-
Vehicle Security: Please remove all personal possessions from the vehicle. Do not
leave keys or security codes unless specifically requested by the car park staff for
valet purposes.
Parking Pricing & Payment
-
Payment Structure: The car park provider is paid in full at the time of booking. Your
credit card statement may reflect two separate charges: one from the provider and
one from Joyfares.
-
Finality: All charges must be settled before you remove your vehicle from the car
park. We do not accept payment by cheque.
-
Tariff Changes: We reserve the right to change tariffs or withdraw special rates
without notice, though this will not affect confirmed bookings.
Parking Cancellation Policy
-
Validation: For a cancellation to be valid and eligible for consideration, it must be
processed directly through Joyfares, not the parking provider.
-
Non-Refundable Fees: All bookings incur a non-refundable booking fee. Additionally,
MMS (Management and Maintenance Service) fees are strictly non-refundable
under any circumstances.
-
Unused Stays: No refunds or credits will be issued for "no-shows" or unused parking
days.
-
Force Majeure: Joyfares is not liable for losses resulting from parking cancellations
caused by strikes, lack of availability, technical issues, or other events beyond our
reasonable control.
Cruise Booking Terms
Pricing & Documentation:
- Currency: Prices are quoted per person in USD or CAD based on double occupancy.
-
Exclusions: Unless specified, prices exclude government fees, taxes, port charges,
and airfare. A non-refundable Joyfares processing fee applies to all bookings.
-
Fuel Surcharges: Cruise lines reserve the right to impose a fuel surcharge prior to
departure; this is determined by the cruise line and is not within Joyfares’s control.
-
Verification: Passengers must present a valid government-issued ID (Passport, Birth
Certificate, or Driver’s License) at boarding. Failure to provide matching ID may result
in denied boarding without a refund.
Passenger Information & Logistics:
-
Name Accuracy: First, middle, and last names must match your official travel
documents exactly. Name corrections after booking may incur significant fees from
both the cruise line and Joyfares.
-
Baggage: Policies are set by the individual cruise operator. It is your responsibility to
verify weight and item restrictions on the cruise line's official website.
-
Special Needs: For infants, dietary restrictions, or medical accommodations, contact
our Cruise Experts immediately so we can notify the cruise line on your behalf.
Cruise Cancellations & Refunds:
To modify or cancel a cruise, you must contact Joyfares directly. Once the journey has
commenced, no modifications are permitted.
